Arunachala Kannan

Professor at Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, Arizona State University
A. M. Kannan is a Full-Professor and Graduate Engineering Program Chair at the Polytechnic School, Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, Arizona State University. He received his PhD in Electrochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore under the supervision of Prof. A. K. Shukla and MS in Chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University, India. Prior to joining at ASU, he served in reputed organizations as a scientist at SPIC Science Foundation, India, Technical Head at Exide Batteries Ltd - India, Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Texas at Austin, USA and Chief Scientist - Hoku Scientific, USA. His current research interest includes Li-ion batteries, Fuel cells, and Photo-electrochemical water-splitting. He has authored several research papers in reputed journals and has many patents in his name. He is a recipient of many honors, to name a few; Best Employee Award - Exide Batteries Ltd, Dean’s Award for Faculty Excellence in Scholarly and Creative Activities, ASU and Fulbright Distinguished Chair Award (Helsinki University of Technology, Finland) by the Council for the International Exchange of Scholars (Fulbright Scholarship), US Department of State. Currently, he serves as Associate Editor of International Journal of Hydrogen Energy and Editor-in-Chief - Research and Reports in Chemistry.
