High Efficiency Cooling Systems for Carbon Capture, Transportation and Storage
The carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) projects are being influenced by many factors including regulatory guidance, shareholder pressure and 45Q tax credits. Cooling is required at various stages of the carbon capture processes; process efficiency and system economics are greatly affected by temperature and pressure including CO2 compression. This presentation will provide an overview of various cooling systems and their impact on process outlet approach temperatures (compressor HP), parasitic power requirements (additional carbon footprint), water consumption (environmental impact), plant economics (capex and opex) and plot space requirements.
