Decarbonizing Hydrogen Production with Biofuels Chemical Looping
B&W’s innovative low-carbon hydrogen production technology called BrightLoop can directly process a wide range of feedstocks, including solid fuels such as biomass or coal, into hydrogen with a separated stream of CO2 for sequestration. BrightLoop is a chemical looping technology that uses an innovative iron oxide particle. In addition to detailing the process and progress of development, Brian will also cover our bioenergy production with carbon capture and sequestration (BECCS) technologies, which can provide carbon negative CO2 and power for eFuels projects. The presentation will include a general discussion of how these technologies correlate to available financial incentives for reducing the carbon intensity of power and fuel production.
